Zoey

Before the Apocalypse, Zoey was a college student in Philadelphia, studying in the subject of filmmaking. Though, she would watch horror movies based on zombies, murderers, aliens, etc. in claims that it was for "research". Her father wanted her to grow up to be a policeman, like he was, and every so often they would go to practice shooting guns. This, however, angered her mother and her parents had gotten into an arguement on their daughter's future. During the arguement, a Common Infected stumbled into their living room and bit Zoey's mother. Zoey's father requested for Zoey to call an ambulance, and once she returned, she found her dad getting mauled by her Infected mother. Her mother, seeing Zoey, lunged to attack her daughter but her father quickly shot her mother, killing her. Though, it was too late, when Zoey tried to help her father; he was turning. Her father requested for Zoey to kill him, preventing him from attacking her once he was Infected. Through tears, Zoey had shot her father and killed him.

Francis

Francis has the cocky, egotistical personality before/during the Apocalypse. He was attempting to steal a flat screen TV one night, a few days after the first Infection, since there were no cops, no laws, no anything. Though, authorities had caught him, but they did not send him to jail becasue of the Infection rising. He went to a bar to tell his friends about his almost-arrest. Francis' girlfriend, Sandra, led him to a back room where they began kissing eachother, saying "there's only so much time left". Sandra then vomited on Francis' vest, likely from the alcohol consumage. Francis was to leave the room to go clean himself, but Sandra insisted he stayed. Suddenly, Sandra prompty bit him and Francis' paranoid friend Duke shot Sandra, killing her. Francis, Duke, and a few more friends armed themselves and continued to the roof of the bar where they began shooting Infected roaming the streets.

Bill

Bill was a veteran from the Vietnam war. Once he came home, he had to undergo surgery from an amount of metal scraps in his knee. Once in the prep room, and he was given anesthesia. Though, the paramedic that was prepping him began to turn, and Bill had to struggle against the drugs to kill the medic (which he did successfully). After the death of the turned doctor, Bill realized what he had to do. He got his clothes and belongings together and went back to his home. He then prepared himself with his army uniform and firearm, then headed out into the dangerous outside world.

Louis

Louis had been an IT worker in Philadelphia. It can also be assumed he also played video games, for he has a figurine of the Heavy from Team Fortress 2 on his desk, mentions Counter-Strike when picking up a gun, and makes various references to Half-Life as well as grieving over the lack of an Xbox on the island on the Keys. Louis had first dealt with an Infected while heading to the restrooms at work, after trying to reassure his co-workers that the presses were overreacting about the Infection. Once in the restroom, he saw the Infected male and killed it. Once he returned, Louis found his co-workers dead and the office destroyed, as well with the world outside.
