Special Infected

In the games there will be most of the special infected zombies as in the actual game. If you are not familiar with the game some of the special infected zombie's are Spitter's, Boomer's, Hunter's, Smoker's, Jockey's, Witch's, Chargers, and Tanks. Below are short descriptions of each of the special infected.

Spitter

The Spitter's mutations enable her to spit out a ball of mutated stomach acid which, upon hitting the ground, spreads out into a large pool. Any Survivors standing within the pool of acid take increasing amounts of damage based on how long the acid has been down; this can be up to 76 health with a single spit. Overall the Spitter's acid does the most total damage of any playable Infected, but is also the least reliable, as it only lasts for a short time, and once it pools out, it is stationary and relatively easy to escape. When killed, the Spitter leaves a small pool of acid around her corpse. She can sometimes be a bit difficult to hear, making faint squealing noises as opposed to the more distinct noises other Special Infected make, but the hacking noises she makes when she actually spits are relatively easy to hear, after the Spitter spits it takes 20 seconds for her to be able to spit again.

Boomer Its mutation has caused it to produce immense quantities of bile which it attempts to vomit on the Survivors, temporarily blinding them and summoning a small Horde. Though fragile and slow, the Boomers can be dangerous to a Survivor team whose health or combat abilities are compromised. Credit to http://left4dead.wikia.com/wiki/The_Boomer

Hunter The Hunter is an agile Special Infected ^[1] whose mutation has granted him incredible strength and agility. Smoker

The Smoker is an Infected with an extremely long tongue. The Smoker's tongue can be launched out of its mouth at high speeds, and when it reaches one of the Survivors, it automatically wraps around the target's body and drags him/her back towards the Smoker. If any obstacles block the victim from being dragged to the Smoker, he will choke his target instead.

Jockey

Jockeys jump onto the Survivors and cling to their head and upper-back. From there, they can steer the Survivor while clawing at their face.^[2]Valve stated that the Jockey was made to work in tandem with the Spitter by "steering" Survivors into the Spitter's acid. However, Jockeys can also steer Survivors into fire, swarms of zombies, or even Witches. When playing on Campaign Mode, the Jockey will almost always steer Survivors toward Witches.

Witch

The Witch is one of the Special Infected and the only one to display an initially passive response to presence of Survivors.^[1]She is also the only non-playable Special Infected.

The Witch is highly sensitive to light and the close presence of uninfected humans. Shining a flashlight on a Witch or approaching too closely will "startle" her and trigger an attack. Hitting her with any damage has the same result. She is completely unresponsive to Infected and the passage of nearby bullets.

Charger

The Charger's main purpose is to separate a group of Survivorswho are tightly joined by grabbing one and crashing into the rest of the group, sending them flying through the air. While he matches the Survivors' pace, he speeds up considerably when charging them. However, this increase in speed leads to a slow stop and a difficulty in turning left and right.

Tanks

The Tank is a Special Infected of hulking proportions, and it is arguably the most powerful among the Infected in the game (with the exception of the Witch on extreme difficulty levels).^[1]

Unless all teammates pull their weight to take it down, the Tank can wipe out an entire team, either single-handedly or with the assistance of other Special Infected.
